At the National Museum of Agriculture and Food Industry in Szreniawa there is an interesting collection of agricultural aircraft used in Poland in the past several decades. The hidden at the end of the museum are not as popular as the rest of the exhibitions.
The museum opened in 1964 in Szreniawa near Poznań is one of the most famous in Poland. The rich collection and numerous exhibits attract a lot of visitors. Undoubtedly the most recognizable exhibits are tractors, locomobiles and other agricultural vehicles. Right next to them is an equally interesting (if not more interesting) collection of agricultural aircraft.
The collection consists of 9 aircraft – 8 planes and one helicopter. With the exception of CSS-13, all machines are on outdoor exposure. In spite of years of changing weather conditions, all machines are still in pretty good condition.
Without doubt, the most interesting plane is the PZL M-15 Belphegor. Poland and the world’s only agricultural jet. Another interesting aircraft is PZL-106 Kruk and PZL M-18B Dromader (SP-ZZG). Also in the collection there is PZL-104 Wilga (SP-AGW), PZL-101 Gawron, An-2R (SP-WMF), CSS-13 and Mi-2R. anda Czechoslovak two-engined transport and communication aircraft Let L-200 Morava.
Airplanes stand close together and can not be approached directly – although a small fence separating them from the path it’s not a problem. Right next to the planes stands the Px49 steam locomotive and a covered exhibition of tractors, locomobiles and other agricultural vehicles. In a word, the entire technical part of the collection dedicated to agricultural vehicles is in one place.
