On Saturday, May 5, at the Kobylnica airfield near Poznań, where the Aeroklub Poznański operates, Grupa Akrobacyjna Żelazny organized a small, closed event, which is the official start of the season for the team. The weather was good, although the show part was symbolic.
As every year, the event had a cozy character and was addressed mainly to the friends of the team, as well as people who somehow found out about the event. Therefore, there were relatively few people at the airfield, but on the other hand it was possible to enjoy airplanes in the air and on the ground, and above all, you could talk to pilots and members of the Grupa Akrobacyjna Żelazny.
The weather was great and even perfect for shows, but despite the gentle wind and not so hot weather, the thermals appeared above the airfield. In addition, the light wind drove almost all the clouds, so the sun and blue reigned in the sky. The aviation part of the event consisted of a show of four machines from the group – Extra 330LC and three Zlin 50LS, during which the pilots presented a novelty in their program, which was painting in the sky a sign of Polish Fighting (unfortunately, the 150 mm focal length effectively prevented me from photographing this moment). In the following part, a demonstration of gliding aerobatics performed by MDM-1 Fox was organized. In the meantime, you could calmly rummage with the camera among the machines standing on the ground (if earlier agreed with the group).
